William was born in Bures 1877.  In 1911 he lived in Walton Ferry Cottage with wife Catherine (Kate) and children Winifred, Florence, Frederick and Edna.  They then moved to 6 Dock Cottages in Felixstowe.

 

He served in 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment.  He died on 15 July 1917, he was 40.  Buried at Nieuwpoort Communal Cemetery in Belgium
