Herbert Baldry Capon

Died 3 - 5 June 1916

Herbert lived with his parents in Undercliff Road Felixstowe.  Father Herbert Capon died in 1879, his Mother Louisa Margaret Fulcher died in 1911, she owned a shop called L. Capons Fancy Repository which was situated on the site of the present Leisure Centre.  He had 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  He joined the 21st Hussars on 13 Nov 1893 aged 20, prior to that he worked as a Seaman apprentice at Chapman and Co. 

 

He emigrated to Canada in 1912 and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1915 and served with 49th Battalion as a Private - No. 432437.  He died in action on around 3-5 June 1916.
