Edward Henry Alexander

Edward Alexander was born at Felixstowe in 1891 to his mother Rose and father William, he had 3 brothers and 2 sisters, he also had 2 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters from his mother's first marriage. In 1901 he lived in The Street, Walton, and then in 1911, he lived 1 Elmsleigh Villa, Walton Road, Trimley. 

 

Edward was killed on 22 November 1917, aged 26, during the Battle of Cambrai, the first large scale effective use of tanks in warfare history.

 

He is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial at Louverval and the Felixstowe War Memorial.
